Ultra-low power PSK backscatter modulator for UHF and microwave RFID transponders

چکیده
An integrated circuit implementation of a PSK backscatter modulator for passive radio frequency identification (RFID) transponders is proposed. Such modulator offers a significant reduction of the power consumption with respect to other schemes already presented in the literature. Furthermore, the topology of the proposed modulator allows us to control its output resistance so that only a negligible fraction of the active power at the antenna goes to the modulator. q 2005 Elsevier Ltd. Ultra-low-power flash memory in standard 0.35µm CMOS for passive microwave RFID transponders
We present the design of a flash memory for passive RFID transponders, implemented in a standard – single poly 0.35 μm CMOS process. The memory has 128 bits, sufficient for example to contain the EPC code for Class 0 tags, and is able to perform a complete read operation of all 128 bits with an access time of about 10 ms and a power consumption of only 160 nW. In the erase/program mode Fowler-N...

Recently, the demand of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system is increased for using in many applications such as personal access control, logistics, industrial process, product management, including identifying people, animals and products. The frequency band of the RFID system can be divided into four bands such as low frequency (125-134.2 kHz), high frequency (13.56 MHz), ultra hi...
متن کاملSimple and Accurate Radiation Pattern Measurement of UHF RFID Transponders
In this contribution we describe a simple measurement method to characterize the antenna of radiofrequency identification (RFID) transponders at the ultra-high frequency (UHF) band. The transponder that consists of an antenna and a transponder chip is fixed in a rotation apparatus and exposed to a field produced by a calibrated reference antenna. By monitoring the presence of the transponders r...
متن کاملAn Ultra-Low-Power Oscillator with Temperature and Process Compensation for UHF RFID Transponder
This paper presents a 1.28 MHz ultra-lowpower oscillator with temperature and process compensation. It is very suitable for clock generation circuits used in ultra-high-frequency (UHF) radio-frequency identification (RFID) transponders. Detailed analysis of the oscillator design, including process and temperature compensation techniques are discussed. The circuit is designed using TSMC 0.18μm s...
